Selective mutism: Phobia versus negativism

Resumen

RESUMEN

Se describe la intervención terapéutica a través de la implementación en el aula en un caso de mutismo selectivo en una niña con cinco años y dos de evolución y en donde habían fracasado las intervenciones anteriores. Igualmente se contrasta la semiología y antecedentes de nuestra paciente con aspectos relevantes aportados por otros autores como la valoración de la comorbilidad neurocognitiva. 

ABSTRACT

This paper describes a therapeutic intervention implemented in the classroom for a case of selective mutism in a five-year-old girl with a two-year history of the condition, in which previous interventions had failed. The semiology and background of our patient are also compared with relevant aspects discussed by other authors, such as the assessment of neurocognitive comorbidity.
