Abstract

SUMMARY

We present the Educational and Welfare Project of Jóvenes Solidarios los Millares (JSM), which serves as the foundation for the continuation of the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology.

This document outlines the philosophy behind its activities, which are grounded in the principles of the great educators of Christian humanism from the 19th and 20th centuries: Don Bosco, Robert Baden-Powell, Lorenzo Milani, and Marcelino Champagnat.

However, JSM is not a religious organization. On the contrary, it is an inclusive NGO that does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religious belief, or any other factor that could be considered grounds for exclusion.

The family is the core around which all of its activities—whether group-based, therapeutic, or recreational—are organized. Therefore, the entire family belongs to JSM as a whole. Its goal is to educate all its members in tolerance, responsibility, and, especially, in the full acceptance of children and adolescents with any type of disability or mental health issue. JSM is a haven of acceptance and commitment to diversity.

It offers parent groups, psychoeducational and therapeutic groups, and recreational activities (field trips, camping trips, sports activities, etc.)
