El apego adulto y la amistad: Revisión bibliográfica

RESUMEN
Pregunta de revisión: ¿Existe algún tipo de interacción entre el apego adulto y las relaciones de amistad?
Objetivo: Actualizar los conocimientos bibliográficos en relación a las posibles interacciones y/o asociaciones entre los diferentes estilos de apego y las relaciones de amistad entre los adultos de ambos sexos.
Metodología: Se ha realizado una búsqueda en las siguientes bases de datos: Pubmed, Embase, Pubpsych, Scopus, Psycoscience y Proquest (ProQuest Psychology Journals y ProQuest Social Science Journals), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) utilizando las palabras clave: adult attachment, friend y Friendly. Se han excluido todos los artículos cuyo objetivo no fuera expresamente estudiar las relaciones entre el apego adulto y la amistad, excluyendo, por tanto las relaciones amorosas o sentimentales. En total cumplían los criterios de inclusión 21 publicaciones.
Resultados: Dos investigaciones hacen referencia a los modelos operantes internos y su relación con la amistad (validación de la técnica basada en el AAI y su relación con los modelos operantes y, la segunda, estudia las relaciones parento-filiales, los modelos operantes y cómo estas repercuten en la amistad). En cuanto a las investigaciones centradas en los estilos de apego y la amistad se observan una amplia variedad de aspectos que, a su vez utilizan instrumentos de evaluación muy heterogéneos.
Conclusiones: El estilo de apego y la amistad están relacionados con la calidad de la relación, la intimidad, la resolución de conflictos, la satisfacción, el apoyo, el autoestigma y el bienestar psicológico. Las personas con apego seguro tienden a tener mejores relaciones de amistad que aquellos con un estilo de apego inseguro, evitativo o preocupado.
